What a nerve! Many say that remembering is reliving the moment and that happens to me, I have thought a lot about how to tell you about my experience of humanized childbirth.
It all started on October 18, 2020, I woke up at 5 in the morning and I went to prepare a tea, to be able to rest and relax a bit, since I couldn’t sleep all night, I felt a little bit of colic and it was very uncomfortable. My baby was moving and did not let me get much rest. I went to the bathroom and the moment came when I release the mucous plug, I was very scared, I yelled at my husband, when he arrived he saw it, he looked at me with a slightly nervous smile he told me that it was time, for that it was already 5:30 am. That was just the beginning of our great path to meet the love of my life.
The waves were getting stronger and stronger and all that day I had 2 cm of dilatation. At 9 in the morning they come by me and take me to the beach for a walk, we went to the supermarket for breakfast, we went to the park, my mother walked with me in the house, they gave me hot baths throughout the day. My doula Mailén came to check on me to see how I was doing. At 6:55 p.m. she told us to wait for sunrise, to keep walking and exercising. All that night I walked and did exercises with increasingly stronger waves and more in a row. I cried, fear entered me. Thanks to my mother who was always there and to my husband always supporting me.
At dawn, they took me to Salud Primal, where Dr. Estefanía, Dr. Misael Ramos and the doula Mailén were waiting for me. It was so warm the welcome that I felt at home 🤲🏽💞
I started doing my exercises with Mailen and Surprise! I was already 5 dilated. I began to stretch and continue with the waves getting stronger and stronger and eager to meet my baby to see what he was like! Then that moment came when he was born! 2:35 p.m. Lucca came into my life. It was the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me.
Having a humanized birth in the water is a unique experience, the waves and the exercises. My family always supporting me at all times and keeping God present at all times🤲🏽🤱🏽
